  2. Can a Christian be assured of his or her salvation? How can you know whether or not you’re saved?

I’ve heard you quote from books and movies that are not “Christian.” How do you justify this?

This question is much deeper and broader that it may seem. The answer hinges on a biblical understanding of creation, anthropology, sin, and redemption. Therefore an FAQ blurb just doesn't cut it. Instead, we refer you to the following resources…

Sermons: "The Gospel and the World: Foundations of a Christian Worldview" (6 parts)

Books: Albert M Wolters, Creation Regained and Nancy Pearcy, Total Truth.

Can a Christian be assured of his or her salvation? How can you know whether or not you’re saved?

Yes, a Christian can be assured of his or her salvation, but not by looking to him- or herself. whether or not Jesus (through His life, death, and resurrection) is the Savior.  If you are trusting him as your Savior, then you can be sure that you belong to him.

Do you teach the doctrine of unconditional election? That is, do you teach that God chooses some for salvation from before the beginning of time on the basis of his will alone, without reference to their faith in him?

Yes, we do. The doctrine of unconditional election is clearly taught in passages like Ephesians 1 and Romans 9.
