Pastors

Also known as elders or overseers, these men lead the congregation primarily through teaching and applying the Bible and by praying for the people.

  • Paul Burr

    Paul Burr

    Pastor of Ministry Operations

    In the fall of 2010, Pastor Paul was called to Redeemer to serve vocationally as the Pastor of Ministry Operations and Development. He and his wife, Carol, live in St. Bonifacious and are the happy parents of six children. Paul enjoys playing the piano, racquetball, golf and scrabble.

    R W Glenn

    Pastor of Preaching & Vision

    R W Glenn was called to Redeemer in 2002 as the Pastor of Preaching and Vision. He is the author of various audio and video theological and evangelistic resources. His sermons and lectures can be found online and are available for free. Pastor Glenn lives in Eden Prairie with his wife, Gayle, and their four children. He enjoys working out, watching the NFL, cigars and single malt scotch.

  • Doug Sweet

    Pastor of Finance

    As one of its first members, Pastor Doug has been committed to Redeemer since 1968 and has spent over half of that time serving as an elder, being ordained in 1987. He is a retired business owner from Minnetrista and has three adult children and 10 grandchildren. Doug enjoys traveling and can often be found boating on Lake Minnetonka.

    Warren Watson

    Pastor of Counseling

    Pastor Warren has been at Redeemer since 2003 and was ordained as an elder in 2010. He has been a professional lay counselor for over thirty-five years and now directs Deep Haven Counseling Center. Warren lives in Chaska with his wife, Colleen. They have two adult children and one daughter-in-law. Warren loves reading, photography, riding bicycles, and cruising on his motorcycle.

    Community Groups

    Boomer joined Redeemer in 2005, becoming an elder candidate in 2008. He works as a General Manager for a logistics company in the Southwest metro and lives in Chaska with his wife, Rebecca, and their two children. When he gets the chance, Boomer loves to get outside and fly-fish or enjoy a cigar.

    Mark Suchta

    Men's Ministry

    Mark began coming to Redeemer in 2005 and has served as an elder candidate since 2010. He works as a police officer and resides with his wife, Kim, and their kids at their home in Shakopee. Mark enjoys being a father of five children and also likes to get outdoors to hunt, especially during duck season.

    John Sweet

    Missions Ministry

    In 2004, John began attending Redeemer and became an elder candidate two years later. He owns his own manufacturing business, is a father of three children, and resides with his wife, Paula, in Edina. In John’s spare time, you can find him out on the course improving his golf game.

  • David Ward

    David Ward

    Worship Ministry

    After leaving his career as a software developer, David was called to Redeemer in 2005 to pursue vocational music ministry and has been an elder candidate since that time. David has a passion for playing jazz and writing various kinds of music, chiefly songs for congregational singing. He lives in Minnetonka with his wife, Sherry, and their five children.

Under the authority of the pastors, the deacons lead the congregation primarily through the ministry of mercy.

  • Bill Poppe

    Bill Poppe

    Deacon

    Having attended since 1977, Bill has been committed to Redeemer for over 3 decades and has served as a deacon almost as long. He resides in Plymouth, works as a business manager in accounting and human resources, and has been married to his wife, Paula, since 1984. The Poppes have two adult children and now that they are grown, Bill has a bit more room in his home to display his hobby: collecting antiques.

    Lead Deacon | Mercy to World

    In 1998, Mark came to Redeemer and began serving as a deacon two years later. Living in the Western suburbs and employed in executive management, Mark and his wife, Laurie, have five adult children, four sons and one daughter. He enjoys hunting and other outdoor sports as well as homebrewing beer.

  • Gregg Williams

    Gregg Williams

    Deacon

    Gregg is a long-time member of Redeemer, having attended the church since 1991, and has served as a deacon since 2008. He owns an interior construction company, lives in Minnetrista with his wife, Vikki, and has four children. Gregg is very active outdoors and especially enjoys skiing and boating.

    In the fall of 2003, Dan began attending Redeemer and became a deacon candidate in 2007. Living in Independence and working in the dairy business, Dan and his wife, Kara, enjoy their eight children, three girls and five boys. An avid outdoorsman, Dan also likes to hunt, fish, and enjoys water sports.

    Deacon

    Hale began coming to Redeemer in 2005 and has been a deacon candidate since 2009. He works in sales and lives in Eden Prairie with his wife, Sam, and their two children. When he is able, Hale loves to spend time outdoors golfing, hunting, fishing and enjoying water sports. The Jays also love to spend time as a family traveling.

  • Tim Bro

    Tim Bro

    Deacon Candidate

    Tim’s involvement at Redeemer bookends time spent in the Marine Corps. After returning from service, Tim continued his time at Redeemer in 2001 and has been a deacon candidate since 2007. Working as a Technical Director, Tim lives in Orono with his wife, Sue, and their two pugs. He enjoys installing HVAC systems as well as motorcycling.

    Matt has attended Redeemer since 2005 and has been a deacon candidate since 2010. He resides in Plymouth, works as a field applications engineer for Arrow Electronics, and has been married to his wife, Micki, since 1991. Matt is a father of three girls, an enthusiastic cyclist and also enjoys, as he says, “goofing around on the guitar.”
