Elders

Also known as overseers, these men lead the congregation primarily through teaching and applying the Bible and by praying for the people.

  • Greg Deckert

    Greg Deckert

    Elder

    Since coming to Redeemer in 2008, Greg and his family have continued to grow in their love for RBC and the gospel that it proclaims. Greg owns and practices law at his firm in Maple Grove, lives in Greenfield with his wife, Pam, and has four children and one daughter-in-law. He enjoys spending time at the lake, running and golfing, reading books on theology and history, and following his beloved Golden Gophers basketball team.

    Elder

    Oscar and his family have been attending Redeemer since 2012. From 1996 to 2005, he and his wife, Cathi, planted churches among Uzbek Muslims in Central Asia. Since then, Oscar has worked as a software engineering manager. The Huertas live in Edina and have two sons and three daughters, two of which are married. He enjoys running, reading, and cherishes time with his family.

    Bill has been attending Redeemer since 2012. He is the Director of International Outreach for The Gospel Coalition where he is engaged in a mission called Theological Famine Relief for the Global Church. He and his wife, Cindi, live in South Minneapolis and have two adult children. Bill is a talented photographer and enjoys travel, other cultures, and everything outdoors.

    A member of Redeemer since 2009, David desires to serve the Lord through serving the body of RBC. He is retired from the field of health care and currently works as the executive producer at Thinking Man Films. David and his wife, Patti, live in Shorewood and are the parents to three grown children. David’s talents include playing the steel guitar, especially in worship, and he enjoys boating and visiting his four grandkids.

    Since coming to Redeemer in 2009, Dan’s desire for gospel centric leadership and shepherding has only increased. He works for an investment firm and lives in Eden Prairie with his wife, Brittney, and their four children, three boys and a little girl. In his spare time, you can find Dan outdoors with his family, hiking and camping. He also enjoys playing basketball, traveling, and listening to sermon podcasts.

  • Jason Wredberg

    Jason Wredberg

    Elder / Pastor for Preaching

    Jason joined Redeemer as the vocational pastor for preaching in February 2017. He has been in full-time pastoral ministry since 2005 and is a graduate of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is passionate about shepherding, preaching, and serving the church in a way that is God-centered, Bible-saturated, gospel-driven and grace-motivated. Jason and his wife, Karen, live in Chaska with their four children, two girls and two boys. When he's not playing with his kids, he occasionally golfs, but always cheers for the Minnesota Vikings, holding out hope that they will one day win it all!

    Gabe and his family have been attending Redeemer since 2012 when his passion for Jesus and love for people brought him and his wife, Rebekah, into full-time youth ministry at RBC. The Zepedas live in Eden Prairie and have three young children. Gabe has many interests including reading, enjoying art, listening to and writing music, watching movies, and experiencing different cultures.

    In the fall of 2003, Dan began attending Redeemer and became a deacon candidate in 2007. Living in Independence and working in the dairy business, Dan and his wife, Kara, enjoy their eight children, three girls and five boys. An avid outdoorsman, Dan also likes to hunt, fish, and enjoys water sports.

    Hale began coming to Redeemer in 2005 and has been a deacon candidate since 2009. He works in sales and lives in Eden Prairie with his wife, Sam, and their two children. When he is able, Hale loves to spend time outdoors golfing, hunting, fishing and enjoying water sports. The Jays also love to spend time as a family traveling.

    Gregg is a long-time member of Redeemer, having attended the church since 1991, and has served as a deacon since 2008. He owns an interior construction company, lives in Minnetrista with his wife, Vikki, and has four children. Gregg is very active outdoors and especially enjoys skiing and boating.

    Jamy has been attending Redeemer since 2005 and became a deacon candidate in 2014. He is the owner of Minnesota Disc Institute, a specialized clinic for severe disc disorders. He lives in Carver with his wife, Andrea, and their four children. In his spare time he enjoys golf, fishing and bird hunting.

    Bill has been at Redeemer since 2005. In 2013, he became a deacon candidate. He works in sales and operations at Grain Millers, Inc., is a father of five children, and resides with his wife of 20 years, Sara, in Independence. In Bill’s spare time, you can find him working around his hobby farm, coaching various sports, and enjoying outdoor activities with his family.

  • Jeremiah Parel

    Deacon Candidate

    In 2013, Jeremiah became a deacon candidate after attending Redeemer since 2003. Living in Mayer and working as a Housing Quality Standards Inspector, he and his wife, Marcia, have one daughter and have begun the process of adopting domestically within Minnesota. He enjoys taking family trips, in-line skating, flying kites, and tinkering with junk.
